This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Director (OD), White House Information Governance (WHIG) Division. Incumbent leads and directs a wide range of software development, data management, and security initiatives using agency-approved, industry-standard tools and practices.

Duties

As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (DATAMGT), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include the following: Plans and coordinates complex projects and sub-projects that require study and understanding of technical and administrative work processes performed by the EOP in support of Presidential Records Act (PRA) and Federal Records Act (FRA) electronically stored information (ESI). Plans, coordinates, and recommends real-time data intelligence capabilities for use by senior management to maintain currency on the overall data capture and management program. Recommends and justifies hardware, software, storage, network, and other infrastructure configurations to best support the White House Information Governance (WHIG) and eDiscovery missions. Reviews vendor releases for security implications to existing security postures and ensures interconnection security posture does not change based on the quarterly updates. Implements and maintains software security guidelines to ensure that the agencies digital assets are protected from unauthorized access. Performs a full range of first-level supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria listed below in order to meet the basic requirement for IT Cybersecurity Specialist (DATAMGT), 2210. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. -AND- You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates 1-Working with application programming interfaces (API) to access systems when developing or modifying software programs; 2- Providing recommendations on data collection to improve overall data capture; 3-Working on an Information Technology software development team to successfully implement IT Solutions and ensure software security guidelines are met; 4- Troubleshooting and resolving technical IT issues; AND 5- Coordinate and prioritize work objectives to support data capture initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
