You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC) in the MECHANICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties

You will accomplish assignments using a high degree of judgement and initiative. You will contact the proper code or shop regarding problems, including expediting information and support in order to complete and meet key events. You will coordinate and obtain all work authorization prior to releasing the task package to execution. You will maintain contact with the Zone Managers and first line supervisors who will accomplish the work.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
