About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Directorate of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Duties
Perform bio-psychological social evaluations, using principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling.
Conduct psychological and psychometric assessments and formulate behavioral health interventions appropriate to a primary care setting.
Provide concise and timely documentation of care and recommendations in patient’s medical record.
Develop specific clinical pathways or best practice programs for targeted patient groups (e.g., patients with acute stress symptoms and PTSD).
Provide on-going consultation services for a sub-set of patients who require on-going monitoring and follow-up.
Perform case management functions when those services are not available by an assigned BH Case Manager.
Develop classes that promote education and skill-building to enhance psychological and physical health, and promote behavioral change related to improved health status.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position may require incumbent to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:
Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
License: Position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes 1) Performing bio-psychosocial evaluation and diagnosis of behavioral health patients; 2) Providing psychological counseling; and 3) Formulating behavioral health treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
