Incumbent serves as the Administrative Support Assistant, for Nursing Operations at Bay Pines VAHCS, which serves all areas of Nursing Services within the Healthcare System.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist with management issues, which may impact daily operations and decision making, which includes factual analysis of various section programs and reports on problem areas, trends in workload, staffing needs, leave usage, clinic cancellations and provides relevant information that can be used towards problem resolution.
Provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties in support of the overall administrative functions of the office, such as, records management, time keeping, training coordination, travel orders, and personnel actions; maintains a perpetual inventory of office supplies; arranges for equipment purchasing, moving and disposal; processing pay estimates on contracts; preparing justifications for office equipment and furniture; and preparing estimates to be used in projected operating budgets for supplies, and equipment.
Prepare recurring or ad hoc reports or other administrative duties for computer systems and services as assigned.
Act as work order owner for the service submitting all electronic work orders through the Engineering Data File, tracking all orders to assure completion in a timely manner.
Serve as the focal point for processing organizational policy and process actions.
Coordinate bi-annual policy reviews, prepares required documentation, and ensures processing through the reviewing authorities as required.
Responsible for assisting in the preparation of recurring and non-recurring reports and the completion of any administrative projects routinely requested of BPVAHCS by various certifying bodies, Healthcare System Director, Associate Director or Patient Care Services or Chief Nurse of Operations.
Assist in identifying educational, procedural, and policy needs associated with the utilization of CPRS and other clinical and common Bay Pines VA Healthcare System software.
Possess above-average technical skills, knowledge of general computer operations and Vista clinical applications.
Function as an ADPAC for Nursing Services.
Facilitate process for obtaining computer access and verify codes to new staff and assists in determining the level of access to be granted.
Responsible to learn, practice, and support all existing safety practices relevant to this position.
Teamwork is of critical importance and is required.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Work Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework on an ad-hoc basis or as Nursing Leadership approves. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/26/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:

Physical Requirements: The work is relatively sedentary. The work may require walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers and files.
