This position is located in DoD OIG, Mission Support Team, Human Capital Management, Joint Inspector General Activities Division.

Duties

Serves as a Defense OIG Training Specialist in support of the DoD OIG mission. Interfaces with Joint and Defense Agency IGs and other Federal Agency OIGs coordinating Joint IG Policy. Reviews and updates the DoD Issuances for Defense/Joint IGs and the DoD Joint IG Guides. Conducts a dialog with Combatant Command and Defense Agency OIGs to ensure that the procedures/processes outlined in the Guides are relevant and applicable. In accordance with the ISD or SAT models, design and develop all courseware required to support effective training in a residence, virtual, or mobile learning environment. Researches, coordinates, and prepares briefings/replies for various tasks, correspondence, point papers, etc. Leads and coordinates residence, virtual, and mobile training courses.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or be exempt from Selective Service (see http://www.sss.gov).
  • Suitable for federal employment.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment, and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as experience demonstrates a practical knowledge of the functional process of inspections, assistance, and administrative investigations, and of instructional design and delivery methodology and techniques. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation; supervising or administering a training program; development or review of; training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GS-13 grade level.
