About the Position: Serves as the Background Check Coordinator and personnel security investigation assistant initiating, coordinating, and tracking initial and periodic reverification (i.e. every five years) background checks for healthcare personnel. This position is located at Fort Eisnhower, Georgia.

Duties

Review information in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to assess background investigation history and make determinations on whether new investigations and/or child background checks are required and to verify security clearances. Coordinate initial and periodic reverification background checks, including Childcare background checks for healthcare personnel. Evaluate reports and other records on personnel to provide written recommendations on fitness determinations. Provide security in-briefings, including advising new personnel of reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
