About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Eisenhower, GA. .
Duties
Responsible for all actions pertaining to accountable, COMSEC material charged to the account.
Maintains and manages classified and unclassified COMSEC material from arrival to departure.
Maintains records and prepares clear and concise reports for accountable COMSEC material.
Conducts surveys and announced/unannounced inspections of Brigade subordinate units as required by prescribed regulations.
Operates a computer terminal to enter, retrieve, and manipulate information related to COMSEC and physical security material, i.e., date and results of last inspections, next schedule inspections, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This position requires access to classified material. Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- This is a critical position and incumbent may be required to work irregular, holidays, or weekends.
- Must successfully complete the Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course (SCCC) and formal Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS) training.
- Incumbent will be issued and accountable for all associated Army Key Management System hardware and software.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by (1) Crucial security and COMSEC principles, concepts, and methodology, and have the skills in applying this knowledge in carrying out assignments, operations, or procedures. (2) Protection of classified and unclassified COMSEC materials, equipment, and training facilities within the organization while maintaining inventories and property accountability programs and procedures; (3) Providing technical advisory and assistance, trainings, and briefings and (4) Knowledge and skill in desktop computer systems, word processing, database, and communication software with the ability to generate and prepare reports and to undergo audits.
