This position is located in the Government Accountability Office. As a Supv IT Specialist (Division Branch Manager) you will be responsible for facilitating the vision, alignment, and execution of the designated division. This position is responsible for managing assigned resources (i.e. budget, people, contractor, space, equipment) effectively and within the level of responsibility assigned to the position.
Duties
As aSupv IT Specialist (Division Branch Manager), MS, 2210, 1, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serves as an Agile lead overseeing the various phases product or service development, delivery and maintenance within the organization following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Supervises, evaluates and documenting work performance of assigned staff.
Plans, organizes, direct functions, mentors, motivates, and appraises the staff of an organization.
Manages assigned resources (i.e. budget, people, contractor, space, equipment) effectively and within the level of responsibility assigned to the position.
Conducts daily operations and discusses highly technical issues that could have a significant impact on agency IT resources and personnel to management.
Leads and directs organizational efforts.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the BAND MS-I level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band level, equivalent to the Band PT-II/PT-III, /GS-12/GS-13 level. in the federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience must be IT related and is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Overseeing budget formulation, acquisition activities, and expenditure tracking. Managing contracts and contract tasking. Leading optimizations of IT products and services. Engaging with customers to ensure services are performing to and meeting customer expectations. Integrateing metrics for the branch into Division and ISTS dashboards.
