About the Position: The pay band for this position is NH-02 (equivalent to GS-05 through GS-11). If the qualifications of the applicant selected for the vacancy exceeds the minimum required, placement salary maybe adjusted higher to commensurate with those qualifications.
Duties
Serves as a Civilian Human Resources (HR) Specialist responsible for providing technical civilian staffing, recruitment and placement guidance and advice in accordance with a knowledge of Civilian HR principles, concepts, regulations and laws.
Research and analyze command-wide Civilian HR management issues and problems and develops recommendations for solution sets.
Collaborate both individually and as part of a team with both internal and external customers to develop solutions to HR issues and problems.
Work as an action officer with civilian recruitment efforts to include Requests for Personnel Action (RPA), pay incentives, reporting requirements, and creates statistical reports on HR subjects.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance during the duration of employment.
- You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively work experience with one year of that experience includes applying civilian basic human resources rules, regulations, and procedures to assist senior level HR Specialists; providing advisory services on staffing functions; performing preliminary research and analysis on routine human resources topics or processes; and utilizing civilian human resources automated tools to access, transmit, retrieve and manipulate data. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01/GS-04).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
