Duties

Serving as a Program Analyst GS-0343-9 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Core Training Operations Directorate (CTO) as assigned under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) and is located in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative, analytical, and management support duties to ensure the accomplishment of the FLETC and the CTO mission. Typical duties include: Cooperating with the private sector or local communities to share organizational information and then report those contacts and activities to CTO headquarters Reviewing, analyzing, and editing memorandums, directives, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOP), and correspondence. Working with subject matter experts to manage the various divisional administrative workflows via the technological systems. Managing the Division Chief's calendar to include appointments, meetings, and conferences. Obtaining regularly required office supplies and services including required training equipment necessary for the organizational mission essential functions. Requirements

  • Bargaining Unit: This is a bargaining unit covered position, represented under the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU).

  • This position is eligible for situational-only telework based on agency policy.
  • This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You will be required to sustain FLETC operations in the event of a localized situation, such as inclement weather, interruptions to power, or dismissal or closure of DHS operations or services.
  • Overtime work may be required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

You qualify at the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties that demonstrates the ability to perform the following duties: 1) Maintaining files, records, and reference materials in accordance with applicable rules and regulations; 2) Drafting and/or reviewing a variety of correspondence, manuals, and reports in accordance with proper format, grammar, and punctuation guidelines; 3) Analyzing administrative processes of the organization to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions; 4) Utilizing computer equipment and software programs to develop presentations, maintain calendars, arrange travel, and/or perform timekeeping duties; OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related ; OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level. All requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
