The primary purpose of this position is to utilize logistics expertise to develop, implement, direct, and/or function as part of a logistics management operation for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) in support of acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

1. As a technical expert, responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total, cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment.
2. Develops, refines, analyzes, and issues logistics policies for assigned programs applicable to one or more DoD components.
3. Exercises full program responsibility for automated logistics systems.
4. Serves as a senior command representative and spokesperson in communicating program matters.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE FOREIGN MILITARY SALES (FMS):
1. As a FMS subject matter expert, responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total, cradle to grave logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment. (FMS positions may require up to 50% travel).
2. Provides expert advice for complex FMS case management issues and ascertains that overall program performance is achieved as projected.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for the Logistics Management Series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in other pay systems.. Examples of specialized experience includes independently directing, developing, implementing, and/or coordinating total cradle to grave logistics management while functioning as part of a logistics management operation in support of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition and logistics management processes and initiatives.
2. Knowledge of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods.
3. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the logistics management program processes.
4. Skill in staff level planning, organizing, and overseeing critical aspects of development, production, and support of systems, subsystems, or equipment
5. Ability to integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of logistics functions in support of research, development, production, and support of a system, subsystem, or equipment.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
