About the Position: Position is located at United States Southern Command Exercises and Coalition Affairs Directorate Training and Exercises Division. This is a TERM position NTE 5 years, May be Made Permanent.

Duties

Provide policy and procedural guidance for assessment actions. Lead assessment actions associated with the implementation of emerging joint concepts. Create plans to organize and present training assessments. Support joint concepts, lessons learned, and wargaming actions. Develop tools to conduct analysis on USSOUTHCOM training programs. Interpret analytic data to provide senior leaders with relevant findings. Analyze training data to report USSOUTHCOM training readiness.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires travel away from the duty station up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Working with a joint command to conduct assessments for joint exercises; 2) Creating and analyzing training assessment products; 3) Solving problems using sound judgement and technical expertise. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) grade level. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationPlanning and EvaluatingTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
