About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Training Specialist at the Exercises and Coalition Affairs Directorate-Training and Exercises Division in Miami, FL.

Duties

Manage the command's Individual Training Program. Responsible for the management and reporting of command readiness associated with required recurring training. Supervise and coordinate training events, courses, and mobile training teams. Conduct analyses regarding the training program and training systems. Validate training designs to determine the viability and cost training effectiveness of supporting factors. Plan and assign work to personnel based on priority level to meet organizational deadlines. Identify training needs of personnel and provide the opportunities accordingly. Research ways to improve production and increase the quality of work. Plan and assign work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel based on priority task level. Evaluate work performance of subordinate personnel. Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide training opportunities accordingly. Improve production to increase the quality of the work. Develop performance standards for subordinate personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Drug testing is required.
  • This position may require 10% TDY travel.
  • May be required to work overtime.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Plan and assign work to personnel based on priority level to ensure organizational deadlines are met; 2). Identify and provide training opportunities for personnel to improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization; 3). Analyze feedback from personnel regarding the instructional content of the courses to incorporate improvements for the training assessment program; 4). Create lesson plans contributing to the course facilitation to provide knowledge to personnel; and 5). Conduct research regarding subject matter content to incorporate into the training program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Curriculum DevelopmentInstructional Delivery and Learner DevelopmentInstructional DesignLearning and Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
