Duties

Assist with the operation of the pool, oversee the work of assigned lifeguards and monitor compliance with facility policies. Assist with scheduling of employees. Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatic facility. Rescue swimmers and administer first aid as required. Ensure pool and pool area is clean and free from any hazards. Provide information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures. Assist in the conducting of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC21-21.

Requirements

• A one year probationary period may be required.

• Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
• May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
• In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24 hour period.
• Successful completion of Health Assessment.
• incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
• All required certifications must be kept current.
• Incumbent may be subject to additional background checks, with periodic reverification.

Qualifications

Must possess the following certificates: 1. American Red Cross "Lifeguard" Certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification). 2. American Red Cross "Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-PRO) Certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification). 3. American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) Certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates AED Certification). Best Qualified Qualifications: 1. Possess 1 year of Lifeguard experience and 2. Lifeguard Instructor or Water Instructor Certificate Note: Lifeguard Certifications must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible.
