This position is located in the ISTS, as a Supervisory IT Specialist (IMD) you will be responsible for the development and management of the Agency's Enterprise Architecture.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Associate Director of IT Management IMD), MS-2210-2,your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serves as the Chief Enterprise Architect responsible for acquiring, developing, and implementing enterprise systems that focus on data and information sharing, full integration, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensures appropriate internal GAO collaboration and coordination with subject matter experts and stakeholders for project data gathering, analysis, decision-making, and change management IT-Enterprise activities.
Plans, executes, and manages acquisition planning and ISTS office-wide acquisitions for IT services and products. Ensures compliance with contract provisions and with federal and agency regulations.
Serves as a Designated Performance Manager (DPM) responsible for supervising, evaluating and documenting work performance of assigned staff.
Provides frequent updates and visibility on operational milestones, progress, risks, and mitigations.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the BAND MS-II level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the
general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
The MS-2 position require one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band/grade PT-III/MS-I/GS-14 level (or equivalent) in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience must be IT related and is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
Specialized experience is defined as experience developing IT Strategies, goals, and objectives to establish IT Strategies; managing Enterprise Architecture and performing governance; developing acquisition for IT services and products; serving as an IT manager, leading, and developing staff by providing IT learning experience, and creating and maintain a work environment to support IT initiatives.
