You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (OPERATIONS) in the MARINE CORPS INFORMATION OPERATIONS CENTER, MARINE CORPS INFORMATION COMMAND (MCIC) MARINE FORCES COMMAND (MARFORCOM).
Duties
Review Operations Security (OPSEC) programs that are designed to meet operational needs by mitigating risks associated with specific vulnerabilities in order to deny adversaries critical information and observable indicators.
Recommend deviation from routine practices to confuse or deter adversarial collectors and reduce vulnerabilities to existing hostile intelligence, terrorist, and criminal threats against personnel, information and other critical assets.
Conduct risk analysis and vulnerability assessments in accordance with the intelligence threat analysis to determine appropriate preventive and active protective measures.
Provide subject matter expertise to support the application of analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of service-specific Operations Security (OPSEC) training curriculum.
Requirements
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting assessments, documenting findings, preparing/briefing results and making recommendations regarding a unit/installation OPSEC programs.
