Duties

SUMMARY: The position serves to create, implement training schedules, manage, coordinate and solve immediate and long-term issues or problems that arise which will prevent students from attendance of 1st primary AFSC initial skills courses. The work requires significant analytical ability, individual judgment, and discretion as well as practical knowledge coupled with a broad scope of knowledge related to programs used in the execution of assigned duties. Reducing non-training time of Special Warfare Training for Active Duty enlisted and officer (individually), ANG and USAF Reserve student pipelines as well as student records and training data through the student accounting functions of various current Air Force databases. Reporting progress of critical combat skills to the Special Warfare Training Wing, Special Warfare Training Group, and collateral agencies to ascertain future needs and shape future programs of a similar type. DUTIES: Constructs and implements the Training Pipeline Schedule for all Special Warfare Airmen, enlisted and officers students (Individually). Manage, review, prioritize and coordinate student pipeline actions. Coordinates with several agencies for proper movement of student personnel. Analyzes and interprets trainee management and accounting data.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Work is performed in an office setting and is primarily sedentary; however, may require periodic visits to geographically separated units.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support, GS-1702. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of requirements for training and availability to include scheduling and planning. General knowledge of training activities in order to coordinate and analyze a variety of data and processes, prepare schedules and effectively communicate with and obtain cooperation and assistance of personnel in the organizations. Knowledge of office automation systems to use several types of software for various office needs. Knowledge of software needed to produce a wide range of documents requiring use of advanced software functions to meet needs of complex formats. Knowledge of missions and functions in order to plan and coordinate all training resource requirements. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Extensive knowledge of training administration, policies, and procedures. Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques required to evaluate and analyze training management systems, policies, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of training flow management computer database systems, and expert/extensive knowledge of TTMS and sub-modules (LMS, Up Front, and ADSS), OTA (MILPDS), ATRRS and MicroSoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conducts research, summarize results, and develop timely and impactful solutions. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy. Ability to analyze, evaluate and accomplish special training, studies and projects. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
