About the Position: This is a Maintenance Control Specialist, GS-1601-09 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District with duty location at Galveston Texas.

Duties
Primary responsibility for the overall maintenance, control, and administration of a comprehensive
preventive maintenance control program and automated data system, Facilities Equipment Maintenance System (FEM).
Develops, codes, and updates a status profile, history,supporting technical library, and related maintenance procedures for equipment and/or facility features from the time of purchase until retired orreplaced.
Implements and monitors system modifications and revises procedures to optimize system andcomputer systems integration.
Assists in developing graphs for various statistical or comparison reports for current and pastyear.
Utilizes FEM to issue and schedule routine preventive maintenance (PM), repair and replacement of all equipment and machinery.
Performs administrative duties such as time and attendance, processing travel orders/vouchers, creating training requests, creating purchaserequests, and creating overtime reports.
Monitors annual and sick leave usage as well asovertime and provides information to supervisor on leave balances and usage.
Performs monthly administrative reports such as vehicle usage, travel, training and leave usage.
Works withproject safety personnel to coordinate use of FEM with existing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Utilizing Automated Maintenance System to manage maintenance of equipment;
AND
2) Developing equipment maintenance schedules for a facility.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
