About the Position: This Operations and Maintenance Manager, GS-1601-13 position, is located in Galveston TX in the Operations Division Project Operations Branch, Operations Maintenance Section Galveston.

Duties

The Operations and Maintenance Manager is responsible (through subordinate Operations Managers) for planning, scheduling, and directing maintenance and operations relating to navigation and flood reduction facilities in the District. Furnish data to the Programs and Project Management Division for use in preparing the annual budget. Formulate annual plans, estimates of cost, budget requirements and justifications for continued operation and maintenance of the navigation and flood risk reduction systems. Determine the proper and most economical methods for accomplishment of all major maintenance and inspection work.

(NOTE: This experience MUST be well documented on your resume or application package.) This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsFacilities Operations ManagementLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
