Duties
DUTY 1:
Perform career broadening assignments working with senior analyst in planning, organizing, and directing logistics programming support for identified systems/programs. This includes the development. review, validation, and substantiation of current and long-range logistics requirements to support worldwide mission objectives. Develops. coordinates, and issues comprehensive guidance and procedures to be used by subordinate
commands and field activities in the execution of budget/buy/modification/maintenance support for these systems/programs.
DUTY 2:
Serves as a team member performing career broadening assignments involved in planning, prioritizing and coordinating strategic logistics support of Special Operations Forces (JSOF) at forward locations across the globe. Prepares, executes. and synchronizes logistics requirements and capabilities for one or more global plans for sustainment of Joint Special Operations Forces. Develops and justify estimates and reviews procedures and
techniques to be used in the sustainment of deployed JSOF.
DUTY 3:
Carries out special projects and assignments designed specifically to meet the broadening intent of the position. Represents the concerns of the organization at meetings and conferences preparing staff studies and various documents to meet special needs. Develops and presents oral presentations; leading and/or serving on steering committees or completing a project aimed at improving organizational effectiveness. Provides responsive and timely support to customers, actively supports achievement of financial program goals and objectives

- Career Broadening positions are managed by AFPC/DPCZ and are centrally funded.

- Career Broadening also provides training and developmental opportunities at various organizational levels.
- These assignments offer the qualified candidate a unique assignment in that the candidates brings certain experience to the assignment while gaining new experiences in a different work environment
- TEMPORARY PROMOTION: If the position is filled as a temporary promotion, upon completion of the career broadening assignment, the temporary promotion may lead to permanent promotion without further competition
- Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyances IAW Joint Travel Regulations may be required in performance of TDY
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Employee must maintain current certifications

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
A thorough and extensive knowledge of program management strategies and concepts related to Air Force and DoD military structures and missions. In-depth knowledge of DoD logistics policies, procedures, Air Force strategies and program tracking processes for program management oversight. Comprehensive knowledge of logistics support requirements, planning, programming, and budgeting for logistics support resources. The position requires a comprehensive and expert knowledge of policies. concepts. and procedures affecting logistics. inventory management and procurement functions. The incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of Air Force and Department of Defense command organizational structures and functions. Mastery of advanced analytical techniques is necessary in the detennination, programming. and defense of long-range requirements. A broad expert knowledge of the relationship of procurement, distribution. budgeting, funding, programming, maintenance, storage. disposal, and other logistical operations is required
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-12 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
I. Knowledge of DoD and Air Force regulations, principles, and practices pertaining to logistics support functions.
2. Knowledge of program planning, funding, and logistics support activities to include determination of fund requirements; supply support systems; integration of supply, transportation, maintenance, and other support activities.
3. Skill in managing and coordinating complex activities, gather facts and use effective. analytical. and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound problem solving decisions.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work.
5. Ability to work in a multi-functional environment involving interaction with the highest executive and management levels of USSOCOM, DoD. and SOF Service Components.
6. Ability to independently plan, organize. and lead teams to support program activities and execute studies/projects within established financial and/or time constraints.
