Incumbent will serve as an IT Specialist (APPSW) - Modern Developer in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)
Position may be filled in any of the following offices:
Office of Digital Transformation (ODT)
Office of Enterprise Information Systems (OEIS)
Duties
Develops detailed application systems design and software; performs testing, implementation and maintenance activities for projects or major aspects of projects assigned.
Tests and evaluates various software packages to determine the ease of use, interactions and compatibility, as well as suitability to support component workloads
Serves as a system architect in the front-end analysis of requirements for the development and modification of systems in the assigned area. Maintains overall control of assigned projects
[cont'd] and develops the logical structure for automated problem solutions. Provides program design and coding specifications for implementation by self or other computer
[cont'd] programmers, including: software development strategy, descriptions of data and file organizations, file layouts and record narrative, program flow and subroutine
[cont'd} composition modules, operating system and hardware interface plans and linkage requirements.

Qualifications

To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, applicants must demonstrate the following IT-related competencies:

In addition, to qualify for this GS-12 level position, applicants must possess and demonstrate 52 weeks of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level (or above) in the federal service that is in or related to the work of the position filled and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such IT-related experience must include developing applications to support large scale applications that interface with relational databases or APIs using at least one of the following development languages: Angular, Java, WebFocus, Node.js, .Net, XSLT, PEGA, COBOL, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Hadoop or ORM frameworks such as OpenJPA, Toplink, JPA or Hibernate.
This specialized experience is REQUIRED and must be explicitly documented/described in your resume or you will be disqualified from further consideration.
