You will serve as a LIFTING & HANDLING DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT in the LIFTING & HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide support to the Deputy Director.
You will participate in departmental goals, priorities and objectives.
You will forecast manpower, materials, equipment, tooling and facility needs.
You will provide necessary research and investigations to gather and report facts to recommend apporpriate action.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with weight handling equipment maintenance methods, procedures, materials, processes; with record keeping procedures used in supporting major industrial ship repairs, facilities, plants and equipment;
Experience with planning and coordinating complex weight handling equipment maintenance work involving direction through trade supervision;
Experience with project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and work flow control techniques related to weight handling maintenance operations; and
Experience with investigating and analyzing practices and problems to develop effective improvements and solutions as needed.
