The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Unit Support Branch Program Manager providing unit outreach, unit readiness, fields unit requirements and data calls, develops policy, manages mission essential tasks, validates unit type codes for the Air Force Generation Model / Expeditionary Air Base construct, and directs processes for Agile Combat Employment exquisite capabilities.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AFGSC/A2 support to global bomber operations. Oversees Global Force Management (GFM) and Air Force Generation Model/Expeditionary Air Base programs as outlined in the appropriate instructions and guidelines. Exercises management in special studies and projects related to Intelligence Oversight, unit-level intelligence for the command, disseminates AFGSC/A2 policies, manages AFGSC Intelligence Staff Assistance Visit (SAV) Program. Advises and provides counsel to units regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Represents MAJCOM Unit Support Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with HQ USAF, 10 geographic and functional COCOMs, 2 NAFs, 5 Bomb Wings, 3 Missile Wings, 2 Guard and Reserve units and other staff action officers and national intelligence community levels. Participates in unit readiness with respect for long range bomber operations. The primary purpose of this position is to Manage all facets of the Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES) System with respect to long-rang bomber operations. Makes recommendations on operational matters used to initiate management actions to revise policy to commit Agency funds or resources. Actions indirectly may impact future ISR capabilities.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive Security Clearance with access to sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A Non-Disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multisource intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments. Knowledge of advance analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of semi-complex to complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. Multi-source analytical expertise from either regional or functional background/training to current and operational intelligence missions Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of Global Force Management (GFM) and Air Force Generation Model/Expeditionary Air Base concepts as outlined in the appropriate instructions and guidelines. 2. Knowledge of full range of intelligence principles and techniques from an Air Force or MAJCOM level. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a small to medium sized organization. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
