As Director, Office of Policy Review and Development, you will serve as a Supervisory Program Analyst responsible for the development and implementation of policies, programs, legislation, and practices affecting the public transportation industry. The Director of Policy Review and Development is FTA's lead for developing and coordinating policies, programs, and activities across the agency and for coordination activities with other DOT offices.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience conducting policy analysis to improve the effectiveness of government programs.
Experience in leading teams of experienced professionals with differing technical backgrounds.
Experience communicating policy issues with officials at all levels internal and external to an organization,Including the application and interpretation of laws and regulations as they apply to transportation programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Policy analysis using quantitative and/or qualitative factors to assess the potential outcome of policy options in relation to agency goals and objectives.
Leading teams toward the achievement of specified objectives through guidance, instruction, direction and the application of key leadership principles.
Communicating at all levels of an organization to obtain input on decisions and explain complex and/or procedural concepts.
