This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Serves as a Supervisory Program Analyst, providing support to the Joint Fires Division Chief through management of operations and support functions of Deputy Director South. Is an analytical expert for the assessment, synchronization and integration of joint and combined warfighting development functions and activities to address (C4) capability needs and interoperability shortfalls.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST (COMBAT FIRE ANALYSIS) at the GS-0343-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Secretariat of both the Joint Fire Support and Combat Identification-Friendly Force Tracking Executive Steering Committees.
Directs development of comprehensive solutions among diverse DoD organizations and Partner Nation members and recommends fielding solutions to the Operations Deputies, the Joint Requirements Oversight Council and represents the U.S. in corresponding activities under the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Board (NC3B).
Represents the Division/Directorate at Joint Staff/Combatant Command/Agency high-level and international meetings, briefings, and conferences where major policy issues and programs are discussed, and decisions are made.
Provides oversight over projects that range from conventional fire support improvements to fast-tracked highly complex, state-of-the-art emerging capabilities and modernization efforts that are often of National priority and/or interest.
Leads complex Joint Staff sponsored Combined/Joint experiments and demonstrations, both in CONUS and OCONUS, in pursuit of operational capability and interoperability.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Providing direction on agency projects at a National level such as Combat Identification, Friendly Force Tracking, Fire Support and Joint Close Air Support, or Bold Quest;
Preparing work around a constantly changing warfighter environment, budgetary fluctuations, and service program execution;
Utilizing fire analysis principles and applications;
Preparing long-range and short-range planning guidance in accordance with broad Department of Defense (DoD) and Joint Staff policies and objectives for the Joint Fires mission.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
