You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (MIL/OA) in the Information Management Division of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.
Duties
You will perform process actions, which involve unusual procedures, such as applications for special assignment or schools, and requests for service histories of former military personnel.
You will establish entitlements to veterans’ benefits and/or determinations on the validity of past actions.
You will provide guidance to other employees as needed.
You will prepare, review, and report information into automated systems that affect pay, promotion, and legal reporting.
You will review and verify records to identify discrepancies and gaps in information.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following personnel administrative tasks pertaining to military personnel: 1) Reviewing personnel records; 2) Processing personnel actions affecting pay, legal actions, or separations with accuracy; 3) Researching and retrieving data from various sources to adhere to policy and procedures; and 4) Drafting and preparing initial and response communications.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- 4 years above high school
