You will serve as a COMPOSITE FABRICATER LEADER (AIRCRAFT) in the MRO Production Department (MRO-P) of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will determine the type of composite, plastic, or other compound to use based on project requirements. You will lead coworkers in the construction and installation of protective coverings for onboard and detached equipment and structures.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Working with computer based aircraft documentation and signature assessment systems used to track low observable system health and maintenance; 2) Fabricating, designing, modifying and repairing F-35 aircraft structural components, assemblies, and sub- assemblies; 3) Sanding and painting equipment; 4) Reading and/or working with various blueprints, process specifications, engineering directives, and technical data related to F-35 aircraft maintenance; 5) Painting and applying various types of radar absorbing materials and metal impregnated liquid paints; 6) Mixing and measuring materials to achieve accurate ratio, color, and light refraction.. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
