Job opening: SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

You will serve as a SUPERVISOR in the C2 AND NETWORKS DIVISION of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will provide support in Networks and Communication architecture, design, development, and analysis for Coalition Networks. You will provide project management for CENTRIXS-M Program Office. You will track information associated with the Branch such as personnel actions, New Professional tours, training completion, employee information, DAWIA status, Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF), and awards. You will supervise approximately 15 employees and provide coaching and counseling for team development. You will actively support EEO programs, process improvement initiatives, prevention of fraud, waste and mismanagement, safety/environmental and security requirements for assigned functions. You will demonstrate Navy core values in human resource management, property management, and procurement/finance

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 631 level A-Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing projects for Department of Navy Program Offices and providing oversight of Coalition Network communications from planning through sustainment.
