Duties
This
position is located in the Service Operations Division (SOD), Office of
Information Services (OIS), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO),
United States Capitol Police (USCP).Serves as the Associate Director
for the Service Operations Division (SOD) and is responsible
for managing end-user support for over
3,000 USCP and external customers, both on-site and remote. Activities
include the evaluation of new technologies, establishing standards,
procedures and service-level agreements and providing a range of technical
support services including requirements analysis, acquisition,
installation, customer service and training.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.For
the CP-13/GS-15 you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience
equivalent to at least the CP-12/GS-14. Specialized
experience is defined as experience which includes: managing a service desk by supporting customer desktop systems (software, hardware and documentation) by providing advice, support and training; develop and monitor customer service standards; provide advice to those developing or using microcomputer-based applications systems; and planning, assigning and reviewing the work
of subordinates.*Applicants applying for positions in the 2210 series must have IT-related
experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.* Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about
attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals
who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces,
including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other
agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs,
provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their
expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to
providing quality products and services.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to
individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature
of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes
clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to
nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of
information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to
