This position is located at US Mint,Denver Mint - MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT/ Plant Manager CO. As Deputy Plant Manager the incumbent acts for, in the absence of and assists the Plant Manager in the overall direction and oversight for all aspects of operation of the facility, which produces one-half or more of the circulating coins required for the United States economy.
Duties
As a DEPUTY PLANT MANAGER (DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT), you will:
Direct and prioritize all production-related actions for Circulating coining performed within the Plant.
Authorize the production of United States Mint Numismatic products and directs the preparation of related production plans and allocation of production resources to accomplish such plans.
Direct die manufacturing serving multiple Mint locations. Coordinate, plan, and schedules the production of United States Mint products; ensure delivery deadlines are met on schedule and within cost, quality, and productivity parameters.
Develop, direct, coordinate and evaluate administrative policies and programs for providing essential support services to the facility. Administrative programs include human resources management, local procurements, equal employment opportunity program, environmental health and safety, inventory management, information technology, and maintenance.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Directly managing manufacturing operations at a manufacturing facility; AND
Overseeing and directing multiple subordinate managers and supervisors as part of regularly assigned duties while working in a high volume manufacturing or production facility or plant; AND
Directing and implementing division or plant wide improvements on-site that resulted in enhanced production, planning and execution through innovations in manufacturing processes and equipment with emphasis on elimination of waste, automation and robotics; AND
Using multiple Lean Manufacturing tools to initiate and complete multiple projects to drive continuous improvement across multiple sections of a manufacturing or production facility.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
