You will serve as a SUPERVISOR NUCLEAR PRESERVATION ASSESSMENT IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR in the Quality Assurance Manager (Code 900Q), Production Department Analysis & Business Code (900A), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901) Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will take necessary action to achieve cost and schedule commitments. You will conduct investigations of reported equipment/system failures to identify responsible parties, root causes and corrective actions needed to prevent recurrences. You will conduct studies of work by collecting, sorting, grouping and analyzing process data for quality trends.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Extensive administrative experience with nuclear production trade work and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes. Experience with quality assurance concepts, principles, and methodology. Experience applying naval shipyard policies and procedures. Experience wide range of complex products used in ship repair. Detailed knowledge of audit, investigate and analysis methods and techniques. Experience interpreting drawings, plans, and a large variety of product specifications related to ship repair, maintenance and overhaul.
