About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0VP7A US ARMY COMBINED ARMS CENTER.
Duties
Conducts in- and out-processing of military, contract personnel, and civilian employees.
Performs as an alternate Trusted Agent Security Manager (TASM) for the Contractor Verification System.
Utilizes the Defense Information Security System (DISS) to verify security clearance information.
Maintains personnel security automated databases and manual security records and files.
Initiates and processes requests for classified visits.
Serves as a Security Assistant preparing/submitting recurring reports to higher headquarters and providing technical security guidance to customers.
Evaluates reports of investigations, incidents, or unfavorable information and recommends actions to grant, deny, or revoke security clearances or suspend accesses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
Reviewing security clearance applications for accuracy and completion of information. AND
Assisting in the preparation and/or presentation of security briefings/debriefings. AND
Maintaining security files using automated systems and applications including databases, word processing, and spreadsheets. AND
Assisting with security inspections and/or surveys.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-08).
