About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Select workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Complete hiring process for the area. Determine equipment, supplies and maintenance required to meet daily production goals.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Testing Designated Position; as such, employee is required to continuously comply with/meet all applicable provisions of Depot and Department of the Army regulations/guidance pertaining to random drug testing. DO, 19 NOV 13.
  • This position is supervisory position. A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one (1) year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Artillery Repairer Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the full range of Artillery Repairer Supervisor tasks. I am skilled in Interviewing candidates for vacancies and recommends selections. I am skilled in analyzing work schedules, allocating manpower, tooling, material requirement, and methods to be used. I develop performance standards and counsels employees on formal and informal appraisals. I provide assistance on work involving the repair and modification of turret cupolas for a variety of combat vehicles. Remove and install cupolas on programs not requiring disassembly, repair/modification, and reassembly. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
