About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Serve as technical and administrative supervisor, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.
Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
Develop performance standards, counsel employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.
Ensure that subordinates are aware of, trained on, and follow safety and hazmat policies and regulations.
Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision.
Select workers and assigns tasks to be performed.
Develop performance standards, counsel employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.
Interview candidates for vacancies and recommends selections. Counsel employees on problems and adjusts informal complaints through discussion with employees and union representatives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Testing Designated Position; as such, employee is required to continuously comply with/meet all applicable provisions of Depot and Department of the Army regulations/guidance pertaining to random drug testing.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Artillery Repairer Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Artillery Repairer Supervisor tasks. I can lead or supervise Artillery Repairers, Equipment Installers, or General Equipment Assemblers in a manufacturing environment. I maintain standard work and tack time that has been establish for each assembly line, workstation, or stand. Determines serviceability of assemblies and subassemblies and if their usage is practical requiring an extensive knowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operating characteristics of the vehicle and/or artillery weapon system and its related equipment. Repairs and/or replaces defective items as required. I set work schedules and establish priorities; review employees work in progress or upon completion; plan work sequence to have work completed by deadlines.
