About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Directorate of Resource Management, Agana Heights, Guam.
The incumbent performs duties as assigned by the Uniform Business Office Manager and Uniform Business Office Lead which assist in solving complex problems in the areas of Medical Services Account, Third Party Collection, Medical Affirmative Claims, Elective Cosmetic Surgery and Inter-Agency Billing programs.

Duties
Support all phases of the Medical Affirmative Claims (MAC), Third Party Liability (TPL), Medical Services Accounts (MSA), Third Party Collections (TPC) inpatient/Outpatient, Elective Cosmetic Surgery (ECS) and Inter-Agency Billing (IAB) programs.
Review account balances in various financial and billing information systems with related data to identify and correct discrepancies.
Utilize knowledge of computer hardware and software, along with systems networking to ensure continuing electronic billing and interface with other medical information data systems.
Manage accounts data for reports needed by supervisor or management officials.
Generate itemized bills using medical and financial automation systems.
Maintain liaison with government and non-government agencies, hospital personnel, and patients to obtain, verify, or provide information.

- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes auditing financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions, utilizing office automation systems to maintain accounts or accounting data, and researching laws, regulations, policies, or procedures such as healthcare billing and reimbursement.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
