The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise in integrating all security disciplines into program security efforts to mitigate risks of compromise, unauthorized disclosure or damage to weapon systems, program/system information, and its components. Develops processes and procedures for weapon system specific protection of Controlled Unclassified Information, Classified Information, and Critical Program Information (CPI).

Duties

Plan, organize and manages the security activities of assigned programs at contractor and government locations ensuring all elements of protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the development of policy for the protection of assigned programs. Administers the physical information, industrial, personnel and operations security programs as applied to assigned activities/ systems. Administers program protection planning efforts. Identifies and evaluates mission security needs through evaluation or development of security elements of applicable programs. Represents organizations with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various center organizations as well as government customers and contracted personnel.

  • Security clearance requirements are based upon actual position being filled. The employee is required to obtain and maintain security clearance commensurate with position sensitivity code.

  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments

Examines security initiatives, protection measures and processes for application across platform, system, and organizational lines. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and Acquisition Security objectives. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies DoD 5200.1R, DoDD 5200.39, AFPD 63-17. Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Develops and prioritizes program security and information protection performance goals and mission objectives; develops operating procedures and plans, acquisition security concept and implementation plans; sets overall priorities and objectives for security personnel; assesses progress toward objectives; identifies problems and takes appropriate corrective action; evaluates new concepts and ideas of technical and management importance Position supports F-35 Joint Program Office / Fleet Readiness and Sustainment Directorate in efforts to provide cross functional security support to JPO Sustainment and Security directorate in effort to protect the sustainment of the fleet and joint program office. Expert in program protection, system security, technology assessment and control, foreign military sales, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. 2. Expert ability in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Center Commander. 3. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. 4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 5. Knowledge of government contractual practices and requirements for development and purchase of USAF acquisition programs and/or supporting programs/projects. Must be familiar with Defense Industrial Base security organization, operations, and management practices.
