This position is located in the Chief Information Office, Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
The primary purpose of this position is working with the Chief Information Officer for S&T on matters involving formulation, development, execution and management of S&T's Information Security program.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Promoting awareness of security issues among management and ensuring sound security principles are reflected in
organizations' visions and goals.
Conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.
Developing systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
Ensuring compliance with Office of Management and Budget, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and OHS mandates and directives.
responsible for the overall Federal Information Security Management Act scorecard for S&T systems developing and implementing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
1) Leading and performing work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. 2) Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. 3) Leading and conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
