The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Personal & Confidential Asst for the Dep Asst Sec of AF, Manpower/Reserve Affairs (SAF/MR), Ofc Force Resilience (SAF/MRF), Chief Diversity Ofcr, HQ USAF; a confidential relationship having thorough knowledge of superior's goals/viewpoints/philosophies; perform analytical admin functions in support of missions/policies.
Duties
1. Plans, organizes, and manages front office administrative and executive support services, functions, and activities for the SAF MRF.
2. Responsibilities include overall administrative management of developing Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Force Resilience resource requirements necessary to meet administrative and mission program goals and objectives.
3. Serves as the authority and advises staff on the interpretation and applicability of policies and procedures governing the preparation and processing of correspondence, electronic messages, and reports.
4. Effectively communicates complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident, well-organized manner.
Requirements

- PCS will NOT be paid.
- Position occasionally requires incumbent to work overtime.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule, Administrative, and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Proposing and developing internal management policies and information systems assuring objectives are effectively accomplished; (2) Monitoring office administration including staff briefings for senior level visitors, office travel, local transportation, logistics, and contracting services; (3) Maintaining time and attendance records in accordance with established policy and updating internal tracker and suspense files for document control; (4) Using office automation software to create a variety of documents, spreadsheets, charts, forms, or briefing slides based on data provided; reviewing outgoing correspondence for grammatical accuracy, conformity, and factual correctness. (5) Writing, speaking, and briefing skills to articulate ideas in a lucid and effective manner and examining administrative operations to identify and implement best practices while continuously improving processes.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and ability to interpret existing guidelines to develop organizational operating procedures and guidance. Ability to plan, organize, and work under pressure with short and conflicting deadlines.
2. Knowledge of established management principles, concepts, policies, and objectives, pertinent administrative regulations applicable to the organization's missions and program objectives and the military organizational structure.
3. Knowledge of agency and organizational priorities sufficient to schedule and delegate meetings in the best interest of the organization. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for reports, inquires, and nontechnical correspondence.
4. Knowledge of precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources.
5. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
6. Ability to interface and coordinate the work of the organization with stakeholders and customers across the DoD, other government agencies, and the private sector; exercising tact, initiative, diplomacy, and good judgment in working across all levels of the organization and its personnel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
