Duties
Develop and defend long range plans, programs, and budgets for assigned weapon systems.
Provide research for long-term and special projects, analysis, interpretation and implementation of policies and guidelines relative to Major Item management.
Develop and implement plans and studies for material acquisition, material change management, distribution, and related inventory management activity on assigned systems.
Develop and implement new concepts in automated systems within a specific logistical business supply area to include: logistics data management, depot maintenance, major items distribution/redistribution and Propositioned Stocks or War Reserve.
Brief recommendations for material requirements and/or planning to senior leadership.
Develop concisely written messages, briefings and/or papers to inform leadership and/or influence decisions.
Requirements
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Resolving supply situations involving one or more groups or classes of assigned items such as: item management, repair parts, or maintenance components; AND (2) Coordinating actions with support activities in one or more of the following areas: requirements computations, distribution and funds management, rebuild and disposal direction, procurement and cataloging direction, demand planning, or materiel requirements planning; AND (3) Communicating status regarding supply availability. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
