You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the WEAPONS AND ENERGETICS SAFETY AND OPERATIONS DIVISION, WEAPONS AND ENERGETICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will receive, review, and monitor incoming requisitions and take appropriate action to ensure completion. You will provide technical advice and assistance in areas of specialized ordnance management to support the Fleet, Navy Region Southwest, and other customers. You will schedule required inventories defined in Navy ammunition inventory regulations. You will be responsible for the preparation, review, issue, and follow up of detailed load plan and schedules.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Demonstrating extensive knowledge with inventory, storage, and transportation requirements; 2) Demonstrating extensive knowledge with weapons publications; 3) Performing inventory reconciliation and trend analysis; and 4) Demonstrating extensive knowledge with automated ordnance management systems. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1 Demonstrating experience with inventory, storage, and transportation requirements; 2) Demonstrating knowledge of weapons publications; 3) Assisting in performing inventory reconciliation and trend analysis; and 4) Utilizing automated ordnance management systems. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

GS-07

1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
