Duties

You will provide overall planning, direction and control over the ammunition distribution and control functions for the Branch. You will develop plans and guidelines for junior level employees relating to such matters as program goals, individual performance standards and quality checks to meet the Branch's goals and objectives. You will guide and monitor the establishment and maintenance of storage plan for all ordnance material. You will analyze policy directives and highly technical correspondence promulgated by higher authority to determine local impact and/or application to expendable ordnance programs.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Applying ordnance inventory, storage, and transportation requirements knowledge to perform inventory management work; 2) Utilizing and maintaining weapons publications; and 3) Utilizing an inventory management system, such as Ordnance Information System (OIS). Educational Substitution:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
