You will serve as a Material Handler of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will unload incoming shipments, scan bar codes or key receipt information into
automated record system.
You will count and annotate types and quantities of items and
appropriately sign receiving documents as well as annotate changes on Bill of Lading as necessary.
You will utilize safe practices/procedures and comply with established safety rules and regulations.
You will perform clean-up duties, such as cleaning and dusting bins, cutting box tops and transporting empty boxes to recycle bins, sweeping, straightening, and lining up property in the assigned area.
You will adhere to safety and security procedures and regulations and promptly report any observed or
identified violations in accordance with established guidelines.
You will identify inadequacies in work products or services and coordinate corrective
action.
You will operate fork lift trucks, pallet jacks, and dollies to move, stack and unstack, load and unload, bin,
and position material.
You will drive one or more types of trucks, such as pickup, panel, and flatbed trucks, which typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads at highway speeds.
You will operate vehicles in accordance with established procedures and laws and adhere to maintenance and
inspection schedules.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FLO License/Certification.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ability to perform and have experience performing the full range of tasks including receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment, or materials in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and correct quantities; documenting discrepancies and damage; reading shipping documents; using computer applications to document the movement of material; complying with proper handling and storage procedures. I have operated motor vehicles, forkflifts, and material handling equipment. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
