You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will consolidates materials, provides maximum space utilization, and secures storage, movement, accountability, and transfer. You will independently matches, checks, and compares, material to source documentation and examines material for damage or discrepancies which are noted in detail on documentation and or identified to a leader or supervisor for direction. You will places material in specified storage locations, relocates, and rotates material for space availability and maintains stock in accordance with First In First Out (FIFO) procedures. You will operate material handling equipment up to 25K pounds.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator license.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability and have performed a majority of the following duties with minimal supervision; perform a full range of warehousing tasks including performing a complete range of storage, re-warehousing and consolidation assignments; use an automated system to select storage locations of items being shipped or received or to inquire on status of items; receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials including controlled materials(Hazardous and Classified materials), in accordance with regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with requirements; documenting damage, reading and preparing shipping documents; documenting damage, reading and preparing shipping documents; using computer systems to maintain and produce required data; reviewing warehouse plans and storage areas to recommend consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; inventory items which may include the use of formal, informal, item-by-item, or group inventory methods and using manual or automated inventory systems; operate one or more types of trucks, such as pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks and forklifts up to 25K pounds; determining proper handling and storage procedures under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
