You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (WATER SURVIVAL) in the Naval Survival Training Institute (NSTI) Detachment of the Naval Medicine Operational Training Center.
Duties
You will perform duties as the Safety Diver for training operations.
You will inspect diving system and equipment.
You will maintain records for diving qualifications.
You will ensure safety of students undergoing training.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- Must obtain and maintain diver, high risk instructor, CPR and USN Lifeguard certifications.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience utilizing automated systems (e.g., management information system, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) to extract information.
Experience assisting with clerical and administrative functions to support the needs of the organization.
Experience preparing reports and maintaining documents in electronic files for easy retrieval.
Experience as a second-class Diver.
Navy Dive School or equivalent experience.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities
directly related/necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (

Successful completion of Two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
