About the Position: Naval Air Station Fallon is a remote duty station with 14 tenant commands that provides support to Naval Aviation Warfare Development Center (NAWDC), a major stakeholder in the current area of operations (AOR). Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) Fallon/Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit Fallon (NMRTU) is a tenant command and branch clinic of Naval Health Clinic Lemoore/ Navy Medicine and Readiness Training Command Lemoore.

Duties

Provide specialized information, counseling, marketing and assistance service to beneficiaries. Provide information and assistance based upon personal, written or telephone inquiries concerning both inpatient and outpatient medical care under TRICARE/CHAMPUS. Perform trend analysis on workload, case mix and other data to assess the effectiveness of TRICARE initiatives. Manage contract arrangements for health care services. Provide advice on the many complex benefits available under TRICARE/CHAMPUS, information concerning services not authorized by the program and assists in the coordination of benefits when other insurance is involved. Provide an ongoing program of lecture service and group counseling to various beneficiary groups and organizations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 5% for official business.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ConscientiousnessCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Organizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
