Duties
You will provide direct staff support in the areas of hotline investigations, command evaluation reviews, Management Internal Control Program, external audits and inspections.
You will make recommendations to correct deficiencies or improve operational effectiveness, to apply better business and financial management practices, to streamline indirect and overhead operations and reduce their costs.
You will conduct hotline investigations; investigate improper conduct or procedures that can be tasked from DOD Inspector General (IG), Navy IG, NAVSEA IG, or received on the local SWRMC hotline telephone or online complaint system.
You will manage investigations and inquires, implement fraud, waste, abuse and other impropriety prevention programs throughout the command.
You will conduct command evaluations that provide the Command with an independent appraisal of operations and controls within the organization to determine whether acceptable policies and procedures are followed.
You will conduct financial and management reviews and evaluations of management resources and operational and financial oriented systems for the purpose of evaluating overall economy, efficiency, and integrity of all Command functions.
You will identify operational problems such as ineffective controls, or methods and develop findings and recommendations covering the areas reviewed.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting investigations and evaluating operations for a Hotline or Management Internal Control program to detect compliance issues and prevent waste, fraud, and abuse in order to recommend resolutions and ensure program efficiency and effectiveness.
