This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Deputy Director - Chief Administrative Officer. As an Executive Management and Support Specialist, you will act as trusted confidant and expert advisor to the Director and Deputy Director - carrying out a variety of high-level, complex, and sensitive program, administrative, and policy activities that have a bearing on all Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) mission and programs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties
As an Executive Management and Support Specialist, you will:
Assist and advise the Director, Deputy Director (CAO) and Director's staff on administrative and operational planning for complex and controversial high-visibility programs and day-to-day management of the BEP that have a direct impact on the Office of the Director.
Analyze and evaluate issues that are typically diverse in nature and require input from members of the Senior Executive Team (SET).
Maintain contact with executives and officials both within and outside the BEP, such as Treasury, Federal Reserve Board (FRB) representatives and their staffs, and public and private industry groups, concerning policies and programs relative to the Bureau's mission.
Act as a technical authority on programs, policies, practices, and procedures that affect the Directorate as well as adapt policies or procedures to emergency situations and establish practices or procedures to meet new and evolving situations; and skill in recognizing how and when certain policies, procedures or guidelines may be misinterpreted by others.
Participate with the Director, Deputy Director (CAO), and SET in processes associated with making and communicating critical program management decisions and be a liaison between the Director, the SET, and other managers to identify issues or problems for management consideration.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes experience providing administrative support and advising management or high-level officials on regulatory, procedural, and program requirements.
Examples of such experience may include:
Utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques to assess the effectiveness of administrative program operations and reporting findings to senior management or high-level officials; OR
Reviewing SOPs or policies, identifying issues, determining possible solutions, making recommendations to senior management or high-level officials, and implementing changes; OR
Assisting with developing policies, procedures, or guidance to address changing needs or deficiencies in programs to improve the effectiveness of administrative operations; OR
Assisting with researching, analyzing program practices, and presenting information to aid senior management or high-level officials in their decision-making processes; OR
Assisting with travel arrangements, scheduling briefings, conferences, or meetings, and controlling correspondence and meeting calendars for senior management or high level officials; OR
Providing administrative support and input to assist during the budget formulation and execution processes.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
