You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR) in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAS PENSACOLA.
Duties
You will oversee firefighting training areas (e.g., live fire, mobile or fixed training devices inspections, testing, certification and maintenance programs) for an organization.
You will develop a continual fire prevention or fire protection training program for serviced activities.
You will prepare lesson plans for student firefighter training
You will present situational and classroom training at installation fire prevention activities.
You will direct firefighters during structural, aircraft, and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing.
You will advise on health and safety aspects of a risk management plan.

- You are required to possess and maintain a current valid state commercials drivers license Class A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing structural, aircraft or shipboard fire protection and suppression training. 2) Operating and maintaining fire training devices, equipment and vehicles. 3) preparing instructional methods and materials used in firefighting training environment. In addition, this position requires possession of the following certifications: 1) Firefighter I; 2) Firefighter II; 3) Airport Firefighter; 4) Fire Officer II; 5) Fire Instructor II; 6) Fire Inspector I; 7) HazMat Incident Command; 8) National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT). These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, NREMT, IFSAC or Proboard to meet the requirements.
