We are an independent office within the EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. We perform audits, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of the EPA to promote economy and efficiency and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse. We strive to provide solutions to problems that ultimately result in making America cleaner and healthier.

Duties

This position is located in the EPA OIG, Office of Special Review and Evaluation, Programs, Offices, and Centers Oversight Directorate.

Requirements

  • Background Investigation Required.

Qualifications

All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13 or equivalent band) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  GS-14: 1) Conducting evaluation assignments designed to improve efficiency, effectiveness and economy of programs operated by federal and state environmental organizations; 2) Leading teams in planning, conducting, and reporting on complex performance evaluations of programs, functions, and operations; 3) Providing senior-level technical guidance and consultation to evaluation policy and procedures with their assigned area;  4) Reviewing and approving final reports, recommendations, evaluation findings; AND 5) Coaching and developing staff and/or peers. Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. There is no substitution for specialized experience at this grade level.
