You will serve as a Senior Intelligence Specialist/Assistant Operations Officer for the M2 within the M23 at the GG-14/Band 4 level of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will analyze, evaluate and integrate complex data from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of developments in his/her assigned area(s). You will plan and coordinate intelligence activities, resolve conflicts, and interpret existing policy to make technical or operational decisions necessary to process all-source materials and produce innovative analyses. You will apply new theories, developments or procedures to intelligence problems not solved by application of standard guidelines and policies. You will apply subject matter expertise of all intelligence capabilities to assign tasks, manage tasks, and ensure tasks are fully answered. You will apply knowledge of staffing rules and policy to ensure responses provided to senior leadership are routed and tracked in a timely and appropriate manner.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide oversight over intelligence plans and policies to advance United States Marice Corps (USMC) capabilities for all-source, geospatial, and signals intelligence, as well as intelligence communications, ground electronic warfare, and intelligence support to computer network operations; Serve as department Subject Matter Expert for joint doctrine and intelligence policy, directives, requirements, and legislation and provide guidance to departmental action officers on responses to taskings; Prepare and present briefings to senior Intelligence Community officials and represent Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) at committee meetings, conferences, and panels.
